will your press release benefit from being written by a uk writer

Thursday, December 30th, 1999

Press releases are one of the best ways to announce the launch of a new product, website or service to a wide audience. But they aren’t as easy to write as you might think, and it is definitely a wise move to enlist the services of a UK press release writer to handle all of your PR needs. This is especially true if you have a British based company or website that regularly has a requirement for promoting the latest developments within your business. But why do UK press releases have an advantage over those written by people in other countries? The answer lies in how they are put together. Many British words are spelt differently to those used in other countries, and if for example you were to hire a writer from the US to handle your UK press releases for you, you may well find that American spellings have been used throughout. You will then have the choice of editing it yourself or sending it back to the writer for editing. Either way, you will be wasting valuable time which could be better spent sending the press release out to the people who will be publishing it. It is the time sensitive nature of many UK press releases that makes them so important to get right first time. You need to be sure that the uk copywriter you hire knows everything they need to know about your business and the market that you operate in, and if that is unique to the UK a writer from another country will not be as aware of what that market is like as a UK press release writer will be. It’s clear to see that there is more than just one reason why hiring a UK press release writer is clearly the best choice for a UK based company. It is essential that you get the desired result first time when you need a press release in time for a specific deadline, and by going straight to a UK writer your UK press releases will always be spot on right from the start.

tips in choosing a reliable website copywriting company

Wednesday, December 29th, 1999

Website copywriting is a very essential tool for online marketing. Basically, this writing task involves coming up with an advertising copy on the web. If you are a business owner or simply one who requires copywriting for a website, website copywriting serves as your way to connect with potential clients and customers. Because you can’t talk to these people in person, your advertising copy would serve as the medium through which you can communicate with customers. Generating high-quality web copies takes time. Aside from time, producing effective web copies also requires writing skills. The content that you should write has to be accurate and technically clean. These factors would render credibility to your site as well as to the products you advertise. Also, web copies should also be captivating and engaging to catch the interest of your readers. Web copywriting takes time and effort, but if done right, the payback can be worth it. To ensure the effectiveness of your web content, you can choose to get the services of various freelance copywriters and web copywriting companies specializing in making relevant and high-quality content. Why employ the services of web copywriting companies If you’re running a business using the web, one of the mistakes you can commit is to try doing everything all by yourself. It is always an advantage if you have someone who can assist you or who can do the job for you. This is especially true if you are not very good at writing or if you have no knowledge about SEO and the use of SEO tools. As the content of your site could make or break your business success, you should hire experts to aid you. And even if you are good at writing, there’s still a need for you to hire experts if you don’t want to sacrifice your social and personal life for your business. So if you think that you don’t have enough time or the right skill to handle the content for your site, it is best that you employ the services of copywriting companies. How to choose the best web copywriting companies The success of your web or your web marketing business rests on the content of your site. Because of this, it is important that you choose a company that offers excellent services. Below are some factors you should consider when choosing a copywriting company. * Provides a variety of services One of the most important factors you have to take into consideration is the range of available services that the copywriting company can provide. Check out the writing services that the company offers and ask for some samples. Inquire if the company offers website content, blog content, article content, sales pages, press releases, and eBooks among others. * Has an excellent track record The company that you choose should have an excellent track record for providing notable web copies. You can check out if there are testimonials from their clients as to the quality of their services. It is important that you verify if the company has encountered problems regarding plagiarism. Ask them also to give you an overview of their quality processes and their safeguards against duplicate content. Having duplicate content on your website has disastrous consequences. * Ensures 100% customer satisfaction When choosing a copywriting company, you have to select one that will be able to satisfy all your demands. They should also be open to do further revisions or rewrites if these are needed. You also have to make sure that the company can work on your time schedule. Because web copy is essential in ensuring the success of your business, make sure that you employ only the best copywriting company. With copywriting companies being set up here and there, it is important that you come up with an informed choice. About the author Niyomi Gold Tannfield is an SEO specialist. She has worked as a freelance writer in the past, but she is now the owner of a thriving website copywriting company. She has also written several online articles on the advantages of outsourcing business processes such as website copywriting to reputable companies.

woman redeemed by christine blake

Monday, December 27th, 1999

Christine Blake transports us to the rich and colorful region created by the Romans in the first century, and introduces us to Mary Magdalene in first person. Woman Redeemed by Christine Blake Woman Redeemed is the every (wo) man story that embraces the feminine influence on history and celebrates the strength of women in community with one another. Mary Magdalene is a product of a multi-cultural region: empowered by the tales of Roman women and grounded by Jewish heroines of traditional stories. She is a universal symbol of renewal and redemption. As such, Mary Magdalene transcends Judeo-Christian tradition and personifies femininity at its most enduring and inspiring. Tracing her decline through the temptations of this multifaceted world and her attempt to deny her femininity to succeed in a male-dominated society, we explore her difficult, yet familiar, cycle of sin, forgiveness, and reawakening. Finally, as she witnesses the Resurrection, she gains an awareness of the divine in the world and the beauty of women, including herself. We meet Mary in a small boat with her brother Lazarus and her sister Martha as her story cleverly unravels in a series of remembrances that occur as she looks upon the disappearing shore of her homeland. Through Mary Magdalene, Christine Blake tells the story of every woman’s self-doubt, temptations, pain, and startling experiences against a backdrop of political ambition, industry and tradition. She brings together the intersecting lives of the Jews and Romans, fishermen, merchants, prophets, women in community and women rebels. While this book may look small on the outside, Christine Blake has no problem delivering a huge story of redemption on a grand historical and societal stage. Celebrate womanhood in Woman Redeemed. everything is negotiable not

Sunday, December 26th, 1999

“Everything is negotiable.” Not! Many though not all aspects of a contract are negotiable. Knowing what is and what isn’t negotiable, and when to walk away, can increase your earnings immensely. If you’re selling a timely article to a newspaper, the editor seldom has time or patience for negotiation. But you could ask for additional monies for a sidebar or a photo. If you’ve just sold a short story to Playboy and the dollars offered are a good deal less than in your fantasies, don’t even think about negotiating. But you can and should negotiate a kill fee (if one is not already present in the proffered contract). A kill fee (payable if they don’t publish your efforts after all) is always a test of how sincere a publisher’s intentions are. You can and should try to negotiate one. With book contracts, the base rate for royalties is seldom negotiable, but you could ask for set up a sliding scale with author’s royalties set at a higher percentage as the number of copies sold increases. (If you book sells like one of Steven King’s, you should expect to get paid like Steven King.) On the other hand, it’s essential that you know when to walk away as well as when to play the game. A contract, a prospective “literary agent” sent you, calls for you to reimburse them for “legitimate office expenses.” Walk away. They ain’t a legitimate agent. I was thrilled to death when Publish America agreed to publish my novel. The thrills continued when I negotiated increased royalties! But our negotiations ended when I found they were unwilling to supply additional author’s copies. (Just two? My other publishers were giving me five to ten.) Author’s copies are essential for promotional purposes. Yes, you can give one to your Mother. But your father, your best friend, and your favorite uncle will just have to wait. Tom Clancy is the household name he is today because of all the copies of his first novel he gave away to reviewers. If Publish America wasn’t going to promote my book and they weren’t going to give me any author’s copies so I could promote it, what were they going to do? They were going to print my book on demand and “sell” me as many copies as they possibly could. I’d be self-publishing in other words. I walked away. To publicize my as-yet-to-be-sold children’s book, “Inside the Human Cell,” I considered an offer to buy the opening chapter from Jack and Jill, a mass-circulation children’s magazine. They offered a decent fee and the exposure would certainly increase the likelihood of a major publisher bidding on the book. The catch was that Jack and Jill insisted on acquiring the copyright to my article, which meant I couldn’t use it in the book. The book remains unsold to this day, but I am free to continue shopping it, or even to publish it myself, because I’ve retained all my rights. writing poems aimed at children

Sunday, December 26th, 1999

When it comes to writing poems for kids/children it is important that you do not use big words as small children will not know what they mean and they will not understand the poem at all, so make sure you use simple to understand words and phrases. Now every kid loves animals and fluffy things, even toys. It is extremely important that you write about something that will want to make the child read the poem to start with. Most children may not know that fact they are poem, they may think of them as short stories but it will make them want to read your poem if you write about something they like. I have included a poem below that my good friend Dave has let me use, he is a poet and he specials in kids poems and dedicates his spare time doing this on a website Kids Stories You can even get your own kid to write a poem or short story and see what they come up with, you may be quite surprised with what things they imagine for how young your child is. ‘Animal Rights March’ by Dave Donicci. ‘I’m in front,’ trumpeted the Elephant, ‘To show them all the way.’ ‘I’ll tell them what to do,’ said the Cockatoo, ‘They’ll hear just what I say.’ ‘What did he say?’ squawked the Jay Cupping his wing to his ear. ‘You heard,’ chirped the Blackbird, ‘Everything was perfectly clear.’ ‘Miaow,’ mooed the Cow, Confused by recent events. ‘You’re not a Cat,’ sneered the Rat, ‘You’re one of those odd ruminants.” ‘Now, all in a row,’ croaked the crow, ‘Order we must restore,’ ‘But where?’ growled the Bear, Scratching his head with his claw. ‘Over here,’ called the Deer, Sniffing the air more and more. ‘I’ll stay in my house,’ yawned the little Dormouse, ‘I’m already thoroughly bored.” ‘STOP RIGHT THERE!’ roared the Lion, ‘This march will not take place,’ ‘The rules of the jungle are clear’, ‘Now all of you, ABOUT FACE!’ So that was the end of the march, About rights and needs and desires, Brought to an end by the King, His sons, his knights and his squires. When you have written your poems there are websites such as a website poetry publishing that let you upload your poem and you can get feedback and review on how to make them better and work on improving yours.

why am i losing hair

Sunday, December 26th, 1999

One fine morning, my dad came running to me and asked, “See I have got a baldness patch in the middle of head and my scalp is visible now, I hate losing hair, what should be done?” I replied,”Hmmm, at even 55 years of age, you are complaining about hair loss. I remember your dad (My grandfather) didn’t lose even a single hair till his late 60’s. It is because you hardly take any care of them”. I have often seen very young people losing their hair or having very light hair. When asked, they reply, “We don’t know why we are losing hair that quickly.” I have seen my friends shaving off their heads completely. There can be more than a 100 reasons of hair fall. The first thing may be your family genes or you may have inherited baldness hereditarily. Second some prolonged illness or fever cause hair to fall quickly. After typhoid hair loss is apparent in many people. Wrong shampoos and use of unhealthy hair products can cause hair to fall quickly. Hormonal imbalance and a mal-nutritious diet also cause hair loss. Some cancer treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy also make you lose hair. Women usually lose hair after pregnancy. Other causes include hormonal disorder, blocked hair pores, unclean scalp, aging, weak hair roots and deficiency of thiamine vitamin B12. I have seen even teenagers losing hair and they are unaware of it. The thing is that if you don’t take notice of it in your young age, you are left bald in your early 30’s. The most important thing is to see your diet, stress level and type of food intake. Lack of exercise often makes you lose hair and you feel shy to attend social gatherings. They finally switch to solutions like hair therapies and transplants, which I don’t recommend. If natural remedies exist, why go for an artificial one? Let see if these help you: 1)Squeeze juice of 2-3 big onions and massage gently on your head. Its better if you do it on a holiday since onion smells bad, it may irritate people around you a lot. Wash after 2-3 hours. It is one of the most effective remedy because a re-growth of hair starts after 4 weeks. 2)Get good egg oil from your health store and apply on your head. Make sure you massage gently and don’t rub hair very harshly. Do such activity on a holiday since egg oil smells bad too. 3)Avoid using too much shampoo and conditioner on your hair. If you feel like using these, use very rarely. 4)Apply once in a week apricot (Khubani) oil to your hair. It’s not easily available, but you can ask someone to get it for you. 5)Use hair products that suit you. It’s not necessary that a very good brand hair dye will suit you. For example my mom used to apply Wella hair shades to cover her grey hair. It made her hair rough and almost burnt them. She switched to vegetable dyes and is happier now. Her hair shine and gloss is restored back. 6)Try to keep away from unhealthy and heavy fried foods. 7)Never let your hair become oily or dry. 8)Include foods in your diet that are rich in thiamine Vitamin B12, like liver, salmon, beef, yogurt and sea food. 9)Try to have green vegetables in your diet. 10)Prepare a mixture by boiling 200 grams of amla, shikakai and reetha in 2-3 liter of water. Boil the mixture until it water reduces to half. Allow it to stand and apply it over hair. Let this mixture dry over the scalp for around 3 hours and wash it off with warm water. This shampoo can be used for 2-3 months. It is very effective in hair growth. 11)Separate out an egg yolk and apply it on your head. Leave for 2-3 hours and wash. 12)Make sure that you never wash your hair with hot water. Normal tap water is good to use. 13)Makes sure after washing your hair, all shampoo is completely removed and foams too. 14)Some people use olive oil for massaging too. Olive oil is used for skin massage as well. 15)If your hair is very oily, sprinkle some talcum powder and leave for 20 minutes. Wash afterwards. I have seen those friends of mine, who are overweight and eat a lot of fried foods, have oily hair and extremely oily skin. They even have acne on their faces. 16)Lastly don’t experiment much with your hair: until there is a need to. Prevention is better than cure….. Sadaf Fayyaz

writing and sharing memories

Saturday, December 25th, 1999

All of us have memories of events that happened to us as we were growing up. The events in our lives range from serious to humorous to events that make us wonder what in the world was that. It is fun to share this information with other people. The enjoyment that they get from reading about events in someone else’s life can add to the satisfaction of their own life.Telling stories is one of the ways that we share this information with others. We have been sharing by telling stories for centuries and that is why we enjoy reading about history. You might prefer a certain type of story, your story might need to be humorous, or your story might need to be a drama. The library is full of books that can give you any type of story you prefer. We follow stories on TV, through book series, and through storytelling events at bookstores or at gatherings. Your family may have a favorite story about you that you would prefer that they did not remember. There is a way for you to change your story.  By gathering information from an number of your different family members and saying to the family members present at the time the story begins about you what someone else remembered about the story. By adding additional data, the original story can change and you might find that you are less embarrassed when your family members began to share. Some of the stories that we share with each other at common family gatherings like holidays, birthdays and special anniversaries are things that help us to remember our own history. Once certain family members have passed on, the memories of the stories that we used to share become even more important to us. Go back through some of the stories that you remember that your family shared with each other, and see if you could add any of these events to the stories that you are writing now. Taking a pass from real-life, can give your story believability and add to the enjoyment for your reader. Often times favorite stories are the ones that we read over and over. So have fun, create new stories mixed in with stories that you remember from growing up and see if you can create some memories that people will continue to enjoy for years to come.

anime a style of art like no other

Friday, December 24th, 1999

Anime art is difficult to miss when you see it. In fact, unlike any other animation style, you will know immediately that you are watching anime series as you turn on. Let’s look at some important features that you will find with this animation style. One of the first things that many people notice is the character eyes. They like to be round and large. While not all anime characters has this standard of eye style, much of it does, even the newer movies. This eyes style can be credited to the anime father, Tezuka Osamu, who firstly designed Astro Boy (or Tetsuwan Atomu as many true fans of anime know him). As he was drawing the picture, it has been considered that Osamu was trying to imitate Betty Boop who had become very famous throughout Japan. In fact, many early animations consist of characters that had larger eyes than you might have considered. The previous sketches of Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse for example have larger eyes than most current sketches do. As Tezuka Osamu’s Astro Boy became very famous all around the world, the style was applied by many Japanese artists in the years to come. While many things about anime have changed over the years, those eyes provide anime away every single time. The Archetypes Another important thing that people usually considers about the anime style and fashion is that most character types have a certain look. If the character looks cute then they have the typical and distinctive eyes accented by facial features and rounded cheeks that looks a little crowded. If a character is considered idiot then everything about it is round. They have rounded head, round body and tiny small eyes. If the character is supposed to be wicked then you will see that almost all the roundness characteristics disappear. The eyes will again become smaller and lines will be much sharper. Art of anime has fascinated many people all over the years and while the techniques behind anime art have changed in the past few years. Creations are now computer assisted but the characteristic style of art remains the same. The Facial Expressions Almost every anime character has overstated facial expressions. For instance, if some character gets angry then you might observe pulsing veins on their faces. Embarrassed characters usually finish up sweating in the scene, with huge drops forming on the foreheads. Characters who feel surprise will give an expression that stays several seconds, far longer than one expect. It is through these facial expressions that anime artists hope to provide some emotional depth that is considered typical and classic to anime. Many observers refer anime as a form of art. As a visual medium, it puts large emphasis on visual styles. These fashion or style varies from studio to studio or artist to artist. Some names make general use of common stylization. For instance FLCL is known for its wild and exaggerated stylization. On the other hand, titles such as Jin-Roh or Only Yesterday have much more practical approaches, featuring few stylistic exaggerations. Submitted by: SelectAnime.com Watch Free Anime Episodes

pithy prose more wit wisdom of anon

Tuesday, December 21st, 1999

by Philip Yaffe Part 13 of an occasional series. Follow-up to Pithy Prose: The Wit & Wisdom of Anon (Part 7) I am a collector of quotations. I have been ever since I learned how to write, I mean professionally, not in primary school. I am particularly fond of what I like to call “pithy prose”. These short quotations can cover an unlimited variety of subjects: love, religion, politics, human nature, etc. What unites them is their ability to say more in one or two sentences than could be expressed in a thousand-word treatise. It’s like being able to pour a liter of liquid into a half-liter bottle. They are superb examples of Mark Twain’s famous dictum, “The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug.” In principle, all writers and public speakers are capable of producing pithy prose, but clearly some are better at it than others. Any collection of pithy prose must necessarily be biased in terms of what it includes and excludes. I make no apologies for my selections, only for the hundreds of other meritorious quotations I had to leave out. No one will agree with all these quotations; this was not their intention. You may even find some of them repugnant or outrageous. This was their intention. We seldom learn anything of value from what we already agree with. Only those ideas that grate on our nerves can open our minds. As with oysters, irritation can produce pearls. So if anything you are about to read annoys or shocks you, try to think clearly and dispassionately about what it is saying. You will either be confirmed in your current belief or shaken into re-examining it. Either way, you win! This article is part of an occasional series. In each article, I will be offering more amusing, educating, and exasperating quotations to your judgment. But just to be certain that we agree on what we are talking about, here it is in a nutshell. Pithy Prose: A quotation where at first you may not be quite certain what it means. But when you become certain, you become equally certain that it couldn’t have been said better any other way. In short, big ideas in small packages. If you have a better definition of pithy prose, please contact me. I would love to hear it. Who Are These People Named “Anon”? Some people, such as Oscar Wilde and Mark Twain, are pithy prose factories. During their careers they produced hundreds of quotations well worth remembering. Others produced only a handful, but these too are well worth preserving. Another major treasure trove of pithy prose is “Anonymous”. The origin of these witty, insightful quotations is either doubtful or unknown, yet they keep on working their magic year after year, decade after decade, and even century after century. They are eternal proof that if you don’t know who said something of value, it doesn’t really matter. The source of a bit of timeless wit and wisdom is not important, only what it conveys. Accident: A condition in which presence of mind is good, but absence of body is better. All easy problems have already been solved. Always borrow money from a pessimist; they don’t expect to be paid back. Always try to do things in chronological order; it’s less confusing that way. Anarchy may not be the best form of government, but it’s better than no government at all. Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced. Applying computer technology is simply finding the right wrench to pound in the correct screw. Artificial Intelligence is the study of how to make real computers act like the ones in movies. Artificial Intelligence is no match for natural stupidity. Bumper sticker: Auntie Em: Hate you, hate Kansas, taking dog. Dorothy Bumper sticker: Please don’t ride my tail; I have hemorrhoids Computers are not intelligent. They only think they are. Condense soup, not books! Conscience is what hurts when everything else feels so good. Copy from one, it’s plagiarism; copy from many, it’s research. Democracy is mob rule, but with income taxes. Do not follow where the path may lead….go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Friends: People who know you well, but like you anyway. When your dreams turn to dust, vacuum. Every time history repeats itself, the price goes up. A Freudian slip is when you say one thing but mean your mother. The goal of science is to build better mousetraps. The goal of nature is to build better mice. Good judgment comes from experience, and experience–well, that comes from poor judgment. The high cost of living hasn’t affected its popularity. Hindsight is an exact science. If ignorance is bliss, why aren’t there more happy people? I have often regretted my speech, never my silence. The only things certain in life are death, taxes, and doubt. We accept death and taxes, but doubt is forever under attack Is the glass half empty, half full, or twice as large as it needs to be? The man who knows little and is aware of it knows more than most. Certainty is the opium of the people. It’s hard to make a program foolproof because fools are so ingenious. Life would be so much easier if everyone read the manual. The light at the end of the tunnel is usually a “No Exit” sign. Nearly everyone is in favor of going to heaven, but too many are hoping they’ll live long enough to see an easing of the entrance requirements. The nice thing about standards is, there are so many to choose from. People with narrow minds usually have broad tongues. Why is it that God, who bestowed on Man the gifts of hearing and tongues, persists in speaking to us in sign language? There’s an old proverb that says just about whatever you want it to. I used to wish that my computer were as easy to use as my telephone. That wish has come true, since I no longer know how to use either. To be a winner, all you need to give is all you have. Today is the tomorrow that yesterday seemed so far away When all else fails, read the instructions. When all is said and done, more is said than done. Work 8 hours, sleep 8 hours; but not the same 8 hours.
