do you know how many pages you must have in your sales letter

Thursday, December 30th, 2004

Let me ask you a question: Do you know how many pages you must have in your sales letter? The reason for this is simple: you want to get your prospects to read your sales letter from top to bottom, keep their focus on your words and make the decision to buy your product right there and then without having to click away to another page to find out more info. Nothing should be there to distract them, everything should lead to one goal only and that is to have your prospects BUY your product. If you haven’t achieved that by the time they get to the bottom of your page there are no second chances, you’ve lost them - never to return! If this happens regularly, then you have some work to do. Maybe your headline is not strong enough or you you need to rewrite your copy - make it flow more or if necessary make it longer or shorter. If you need to, add some more testimonials or emphasize the value of the benefits to your prospect, change the style of your words a little - in short do whatever you have to, can visit .killer-sales-letters.com to get the buy impulse into your prospect from one page only! I am often asked “How long should my sales letter be?” The simple answer is as long as it needs to be to get the sale - No longer and no shorter. Any Other Links? Generally speaking, the ONLY link on your page is the link to the Pay Button, there should be no other links in your sales letter. This is such an important key to success for the same reasons as restricting your sales letter to one page only - to FOCUS your prospects mind on your words and entice him/her to buy your product! That means: no links to About Me, F.A.Q., Sitemap, or even Page 2, definitely no advertisements (banner ads, Google Adsense and the like) on your sales letter, either. If you need to have a FAQ page attached to your sales letter this means that your sales copy is not doing its job properly. Any questions that your prospect may have about your product or offer should be addressed in the copy proper. So take a little more time to get into the mind of your customer and imagine the questions he may have about your product then answer those powerfully when you write. If you have problems thinking up some questions a prospect may have, give your product to friends or acquaintances to try and get their input. Alternatively, if developing your own products, you might want to consider driving traffic to a short survey page where you ask people for their input in return for a substantial discount or free bonus. You could form a question like: A spin off to this is that you can capture an email address for your list and have some ready customers on launch day, you can check it out from .web-sales-letter-supreme.com as well as knowing that what you’ve developed is what the market wants. Testimonial links. I often see sales letters that have a great testimonial included, but at the end of the testimonial there is a hyperlinked URL inviting the reader to click and see what else the testimonial giver has said. Just think for a minute what will happen to your reader in this case, he’s focused on your story and has seen the benefits of your product backed up by the testimonial. Then he notices the hyperlink at the end of the testimonial, so he thinks to himself “let’s just see what else ‘Joe Boggs’ has to say”.

You would be surprised how many people still are subscribed to some of the top ezines online today. They rely on them as a way to stay current on what is going on within the theme of that particular ezine. If you do article marketing this gives you another way to benefit if you do it correctly. Now your typing speed will be a factor and let me start by saying that my typing speed was horrible but over time got faster and faster. Shall we say that your current speed is 18 words per minute. You are not a certified typist but you know where the letters are on the keyboard. Now if you practice your articles day after day, than I guarantee in a short period of time you will notice a significant difference in your article output. And you know the more articles you place online the more hits you will generate to your web site. As you first begin writing you might have to spend many hours on your articles but over time you will be able to finish them earlier. dissertation samples

Several little details can ruin everything, trust me, and so pay attention. First of all, when looking at a dissertation example of a Title, for example, make sure it corresponds to the writing style you are obliged to obey. Also, make sure that even if they match, the information is up-to-date. Another group of students usually struggles with a long list of guidelines as to formatting a Title Page, Lists of tables and Graphs, Bibliography or Appendices. I usually divide such people into two groups. For some reason many students prefer to look online for dissertation examples. These people simply want a practical embodiment of proposed steps and want to look at a written page. The first group of restless seekers secretly believes that somewhere in the boundless waters of Internet there lies the example of the dissertation, which coincidentally matches their topic and gives out the main points of writing. There are only a few things I would like to advise to the last group. There is nothing more I can urge these people except stop wasting their time. Don’t let a misunderstanding creep onto the pages of your paper just because the dissertation example is not new enough. Well, this is the usual occasion and many students have successfully managed their dissertation writing with the help of such dissertation examples. Style guide manuals have a tendency to be adjusted every few years. how to build your confidence as a freelance writer get more jobs

Friday, December 24th, 2004

Confidence is an absolute necessity as a freelance writer. If you’re going to convince clients that you’re the right freelance writer for the job, you’ll not only need confidence in your skill as a writer, but you’ll need it to negotiate rates, bid on assignments you’re not “qualified for,” to turn down jobs that pay too little; and to stand up for yourself in the industry as a whole. If you don’t already have it as a freelance writer, following are three confidence-building steps you can take to start getting it - and hanging on to it. 3 Steps to Take to Start Building Confidence as a Freelance Writer Building confidence takes some practice. It’s not something you do once and then never address again. It’s a process - one that you have to keep repeating until it finally sticks like a second skin. 1. Recognition: The first step you have to take to start building confidence as a freelance writer is to recognize that you, indeed, have a confidence problem. The first step in solving any problem is to first recognize that it exists. 2. Core Problem: After you recognize what the problem is, then you need to put a name to it, as in, figure out what the core issue is that is causing you to have confidence problems. For example, were you told all your life that you couldn’t do something by your caregivers? Are you afraid that people will tell you to “get a real job” if you tell them about your dream of becoming a freelance writer? A lack of confidence is a symptom of a much deeper problem, and a lot of it usually has to do with family dynamic - things that happened years ago that have kept you from pursuing many things that make you happy (not just a freelance writing career, for example). Most don’t like to examine themselves this deeply, but once you recognize the devil for what he is, so to speak, you can tame his butt (ie, start pursuing all of your dreams, not just your dream of being a freelance writer). 3. Action Plan: Once you figure out your core issues and put a name to them, then you can devise an action plan to overcome them. This is the easiest step in the freelance writing confidence-building program. Why? Because recognizing and identifying a problem is usually the hardest part of solving it. Once you know what you’re dealing with, then it’s easy to come up with a plan to overcome it. Once you gain some confidence as a freelance writer, pricing writing jobs will come easier, going after “harder” writing jobs will be easier and believing in yourself as a freelance writer overall will be easier. If you want a career where someone tells you how, when, where and what to do, freelance writing is not it. But, if you want the absolute freedom to earn as much as you want, work from the comfort of home and have more control over how you spend your time, then freelance writing is the ultimate career choice - if you have the confidence to go for it! expanding your vocabulary

Tuesday, December 21st, 2004

Building your English language vocabulary is an endless task because English is a living language. Gaining knowledge of new words needs to be a lifelong undertaking and the first action plan for increasing your vocabulary is to train yourself to be always looking for words that you do not know. You can do this while you are reading books, magazines and newspapers. Have your dictionary nearby so that you can take a look as you come upon a word that you are not familiar with. To grow your vocabulary, you need to read at least one book and multiple magazines every week for the rest of your life. When you encounter a word that is not familiar to you, the best strategy is to stop reading and try to pick out what the word could mean based on its context. Try to focus on how the word looks and its sound. Then search for its meaning in the dictionary. As you do this, you could discover that the word continually appears as you continue to read books, magazines and newspapers. Another way is to make sure that you open your mind to new concepts and ideas because each word personifies a new idea. You may have to look to those fields of thought that are still new to you, like semantics, psychology, music and art. Upon picking out a specific field that you find engrossing, set to read book on that individual theme. This will give you with a better idea of the topic and allow you to learn new words as you continue to expose yourself to it. your next step is to allow the new words that you come across in your reading linger in your mind. A good way to do this is to apply them in both your speech and writing. If you use them suitably, no one will even notice that you have been increasing your vocabulary. If someone does notice it and tries to discourage you, remember to keep your mind focused on your goal because the next strategy is to decide on a goal of how many new words to learn each day. While this may seem to be difficult and ambitious at first, you may soon find out that with each day of practise the process becomes easier. It’s a good idea to also read websites that help you to build your vocabulary. There are various web based resources that can help you. Crossword puzzles and other word games will also be a big help as they are likely to expose you to a wide variety of words. 7 transitions you can use to overcome writers block

Sunday, December 19th, 2004

Down with writer’s block? Here are 7 transitions to help you overcome the vicious mental block: 1. “A good example would be”. Give examples on the point you’ve just stated. It not only helps your readers understand better, it also gives them a good idea on how they can apply what you’ve just said into their business, lives or studies. 2. “Above all”. Add another point to your article. 3. “Admittedly”. Leak a secret or two. This approach catches the attention of your reader because it suggests you’re giving away valuable information. Who else doesn’t like to know a little more secret? 4. “Don’t get me wrong”. Provide an alternative viewpoint. An good example would be, “Article writing is simple and easy but don’t get me wrong. There’s no shortcut to writing a good article except through constant improvisation on your writing style and a good track record of experience.” 5. “To get back to the point”. This transition works best when you’ve deviated from your subject topic by a little. It brings the attention of your readers back to your main topic. Most useful when you’re not willing to take out a few points you’ve just written that does not fit into your article a hundred percent. 6. “In summary”. Summarize what you’ve just said. It makes what you’ve just said much easier to understand. Call for your reader to take certain actions, say, to try out a tip or two from the 7 tips you’ve just shared with them. 7. “This is why”. Give reasons why a fact is such. Works best when used to explain statistics. “The thing people regret the most in life in their deathbed is not taking enough risks in their lives. And this is why you should just test out this approach to experience the level of success you deserve.” Like what you read? Listen.
