article writing tips for marketers start thinking like a copywriter

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Thank my friend Travis Sago for the explosion of article writers in the Internet marketing arena. With his Bum Marketing taking the Internet marketing community by storm, there isn’t a marketer worth his salt who isn’t writing an article for the purpose of selling his products. Well, the problem with this is that they don’t know how to do it the right way. If you’re going to write articles for the purpose of selling, you have to think more like a copywriter and less like a writer. I’m going to try to explain why and how to do this. The why is simple. If the purpose of your article is ultimately to get people to trust you enough to buy from you, then you have to write a certain kind of article…one that not only informs but sells as well. This is a tricky thing to do because articles by their definition are more informational pieces than sales pieces. As a matter of fact, many directories won’t accept your articles if they are too sales oriented. So how do you get around this? Well, the most important thing is to have a title for your article that attracts attention. You want it to stand out, much like the headline of a good sales page. So if your article is about the new Gears Of War 2 game and you want to give people some tips on how to win it, you might come up with a title like “3 Killer Gears Of War 2 Tips Guaranteed To Make You A Winner.” It’s a little wordy, but trust me, it will do the job. Anybody who is into the game will want to read the article and learn these tips. After you’ve done that much, the next step is to actually give them what you promised them in the article. Yes, you have to deliver or they’re going to come away from the article feeling very cheated. This is also similar to copywriting. The copy of your sales page has to deliver on the promise of the headline, either through testimonials, proof or guarantees. The more proof you can offer the prospect, the more likely they are to buy whatever it is you’re selling. Finally, in your resource box of the article, you need a very strong call to action to check out your site related to whatever it is the article was about. In the case of Gears Of War 2, it might be a manual for the game or maybe the game itself for those on the fence about buying it. If you delivered on the article’s promise, you’ll have a better chance of getting them to buy. This call to action is very similar to the call to action that a copywriter uses on his sales page. So you see, writing an article for the purpose of marketing is not much different from writing a sales letter. Follow this guide and your articles should perform very well for you. link:sriramsblog.co.cc

law firm websites tips for making your content the star

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

From the largest national firms to the solo practitioner, these days everyone has a website. Unfortunately, not everyone has a truly business development-driven website. Forget for a moment the world of technology…we challenge firms to use their online presence as more than just a showplace and focus on the words, the message and the BRANDING that can stimulate business development. Sure, visitors may be impressed with your tech-savvy but what makes them stay and read is good, clear, interesting content that reinforces your points of differentiation. Websites are truly one of the easiest ways to give potential clients (and others) a good picture of who you are and what you do and have the added bonus of being easily updated on a moment’s notice. It is the only vehicle that can present up-to-the-minute information about what’s happening within your firm. Don’t let your site get carried away with the bells and whistles of technology… let it be driven by your brand message. Here are our top tips for making content the star of your site… Stay True To Your Brand Nothing is more of a disconnect than a firm website that takes on an entirely new visual identity. Your site should reflect your firm, from the brochures and advertising to the overall personality (the lawyers, the office, the practice focus)

changing technology

How is technology changing? How changing technologies are bringing visible changes in work places (as well as life)? What difference it is making? The technology that was hot and hip only some ten years ago seems form stone age today. Look back at what gadgets you have been using in the past and then compare them with what you use today and you will know the differences. I started computing (with DOS operating system) in around 1998. It was a rare phenomenon then. It was totally different. So were many other things in my personal us. Newspapers were written with longhand and or composed alphabet by alphabet. Photos were taken developed and then plate transferred on paper. And now! Remember when Apple surprised users with the first appearance of the MacBook Air, the world’s (then) thinnest notebook. Imagine in 1998, Apple users were as happy to use their first iMac, the Bondi Blue. Yes, it was marketed as a computer for the Internet age - hence the “i” of iMac. Bondi Blue delivered plenty of style and newfangled USB ports. What it lacked was storage (just 4GB) and a floppy drive. I was just wondering if Techno Station readers remember what they have been using in the past? For further Detail: Visit Technostation For further Support: Visit Technostation Mail to Author

why seo copywriting is the perfect highpaying workfromhome job with huge growth potential

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

SEO copywriting is the perfect high-paying, work-from-home job with huge growth potential. If you‘ve ever considered starting a freelance writing career, or want to find an ideal work-from-home job that pays well, SEO copywriting is it. Following is why. Internet marketers are beginning to value the services of professional SEO copywriters who know their stuff, so to speak. And, it’s no wonder. The growth in online advertising is exploding and junk content (ie, $5 per article content providers) just doesn’t drive traffic — and convert prospects into buyers — the way professionally written content does. Internet Marketing: The Growth Explosion of Online Advertising Professional SEO copywriters will be in great demand for years to come, if the following is anything to go by: According to a 2007 ZenithOptimedia report, online advertising will hit three milestones in the coming years: (i) it will surpass radio ad spending in 2008; (ii) it will make up a double-digit share of global advertising in 2009; and (iii) it will surge pass s magazine ad spending in 2010. And, this may be the most shocking statistic of all when it comes to the growth of online advertising: “We forecast it to grow 24% in 2008 and 69% over the next three years, reaching US$61 billion in 2010. We forecast the traditional media to grow 5% and 14% respectively over the same periods.” [Source: ZenithOptimedia December 2007 Press Release, Market to accelerate in 2008 despite credit squeeze (Learn more at ZenithOptimedia dot com)] With this kind of money pouring into the market, internet marketers are going to rely on SEO copywriters who really understand the intricacies of web marketing. A relatively new niche, it is rapidly expanding profession. SEO copywriting is paying huge dividends for those who are savvy enough to start building a reputation while it the industry is in its infancy. Learning about keyword density, long-tail keywords, foundational content, link building, etc. are all part of knowing how to write SEO content that is not only grammatically correct, but helps the search engines to drive traffic. And, driving traffic and converting customers is what internet marketing is all about. SEO copywriters who know how to speak this language to potential clients will be the ones who position themselves to take advantage of the explosive growth that is already underway in online advertising. Basics to Look for in an SEO Copywriter If you’re a company looking to hire an SEO copywriter, following are a few guidelines: 1. Do They Understand Search Engine Optimization (SEO): When you mention things like keyword phrases, inbound links, article marketing and long-tail keywords, are they able to speak the language. If the SEO copywriter you’re thinking of hiring doesn’t grasp the basics, continue your search. 2. Services Offered: An SEO copywriter’s service list will clue you in as to how knowledgeable the are about the industry. If they offer meta tag writing, for example, then you know they have some behind-the-scenes knowledge, over and above good writing skills. 3. SEO Writing Samples: Every freelance writer should have writing samples they can show you. Professional ones will have them on their website. These are beginning basics you should look for when hiring an SEO copywriter. If you’re an aspiring SEO copywriter, these are the basics to get in place before you start marketing for clients. SEO copywriting is not hard; it’s just a field that takes some studying. Once SEO writing concepts are grasped, they can be turned into a very lucrative freelance writing career (ie, $25-$100 or more for 350-500 word SEO articles). the red balloon

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

As a child I was very fond of The Red Balloon. I guess I had that glorious mix of Curious George and Lewis and Clarke. I loved adventure and mischief. I found the story intoxicating. The librarian from my local branch read the story for us, a clutch of eager Indian-seated kindergartners. I didn’t actually see Lamorisse’s film version until a bit later so I concocted my own image of the boy in earnest pursuit of his red balloon. Did I know a darn thing about ulterior motives and bunko artists

wonka candy fan fiction

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

About three hours ago, as I headed home from my night classes, I suddenly felt a desire to eat some Wonka candy. Since my usual route home did not pass by any supermarkets or liquor stores, I had to go out of my way to find one. Luckily for me, I was able to find a store about three miles after exiting from the freeway. To my surprise, they had a very large and diverse selection of Wonka candy, much more than I had ever encountered. This was probably due to the store being a candy store. Even so, their selection seemed to consist of mainly Wonka candy. With such numerous possibilities, I needed help deciding on which I would buy. Fortunately, the employee working there, I think his name was Jack, kindly offered to help me. He pointed ouch which Wonka candy was his favorite, as well as the ones he did not like. After perusing for several minutes, I settled on four kinds that seemed appealing. I traded for them, thanked Jack, and left. Getting back to my car, I immediately set about opening and eating my newly purchased Wonka candy. The first bag was some sort of licorice. It left a revolting taste in my mouth and I promptly spit the piece I tried out. I saved the rest of the bag for my brother. The next one was much better, the gummy texture and strawberry flavor being quite appealing. I decided that this was the Wonka candy I would eat as I continued home. However, in my quest to find these treats I had gotten lost and completely lost my bearings. I no longer had any inkling as to which direction I should head in order to reach the freeway. Being headstrong and stubborn, I decided to forge onward, armed with my Wonka candy, rather than ask for directions. Picking a street, I turned and began to drive. It seemed to me that I had drove farther than the three miles it took for me to reach the store. The streetlights were becoming few and far between, the asphalt cracked and uneven. My gas light turned on. To add to my troubles, I reached down for another Wonka candy only to find the bag empty. I still had two bags left though, not counting the revolting licorice. I suppose that I should have turned back at this point, but I felt that I was headed in the right direction so I kept to that road. About half an hour later, my car began shuddering occasionally as its fuel was further consumed. Running on fumes, it eventually shuddered to a stop. Not only did this concern me, I was also having trouble opening another bag of Wonka candy. What can I say? The plastic was really thick. With my car no longer running, I removed the keys from the ignition and used to attack the stubborn plastic. I finally gained access to the bag of Wonka candy after some more struggling. Carrying this newly opened bag and leaving the licorice and the other bag in my pocket, I set about looking for help. I could have called for a tow, but what I traded for my Wonka candy was my phone. Wandering down the street, munching contentedly on my sweets, I failed to notice that the worn and tired asphalt was leading towards a more dangerous looking part of town. The buildings gave off an air of oppression, their broken windows like ominous eyes keeping track my progress. After walking for quite some time, I decided to just sit down and finish my Wonka candy. I popped the last piece in my mouth and was tilting the bag to get the little bits of sugar when a gentle tapping on my shoulder made me start. I jumped to my feet, whirling to see who had crept up behind me. The only thing I saw was a fist. This fist hit me in my face, my left eye to be precise. A beating commenced. I would much rather eat that licorice Wonka candy than experience the pain that shot through my body. When I awoke, I met you. What did you say your name was? Anyway, that’s the story of how I got here. I didn’t mean to invade your turf or whatever you call it. I just wanted some Wonka candy. I don’t know what you want with me. I can give you the keys to my car. It’s down the street but doesn’t have any gas. That’s not enough? I don’t have any money on me. I’ll tell you what. Take my car keys and this Wonka candy. I know it’s only two bags, and one of them is open. I said the licorice was nasty but maybe you’ll like it. How about it? These two bags of Wonka candy are worth half a phone, I think.

about some types of essays

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

Custom essays are often ordered as definition essays. The first step to its writing is choosing a definition essay topic, which is not that easy due to the different factors. Choosing the definition essay topic begins with the distinguishing of the term being defined and writing out all his explanations. From this point on, it is especially important to choose non-hackneyed words and expressions which make the whole writing sound amateurish, such as “is where” or “is when”. Definition essay topic should be short, clear and evocative in order to make people get interested, and custom essays writers manage to do it perfectly. Another essay type, that custom essays are often performed in, is an evaluation essay. The evaluation essay topics apply to estimation and giving an appraisal of someone or something. The writer should be knowledgeable in whether the subject of writing fits or not his or her criteria and therefore to collect persuasive evidence. The judgment will be applied to the result of the writer’s analysis, so a proper rating system should be developed and that’s why some restrictions are put on the evaluation essay topics. The custom essays type may refer to observation essay. Any writer should do a research at the preparatory stage in order to collect needed observations, which are usually connected with senses. The very process ends up in dwelling on some hypothesis, supporting some idea or thinking over the concrete process. Thus, those experienced writers who write custom essays can certainly be more successful in this type of the activity. Robert Brooks is Sales Manager of Custom Essay (.CustomEssay.org)

Patricia wrote short stories and poems as a child but didn’t take writing serious until years later when she quit tennis at the age of 19. She attended King’s College in Bristol, Tennessee and in 1979 received her BA in English Literature from Davidson College in North Carolina.
