activate your faith belief action results
November 4th, 2009Author: adminAccording to Hebrews 11: 6 - “But without faith it is impossible to please God. For he that cometh to God, must believe that He is, and He is a rewarder to those that seek Him.” It is clearly impossible to please God without proving our faith. As Christians, we of course do want to please God and should want to live out God’s purpose for our lives. Today, it is easy to get caught up in negative thinking. It seems easy at times to always expect the worst. As one wears these negative lenses, this type of thinking and attitude clouds ones spiritual connection to God via, the Holy Spirit. Just think; if we are always seeking and confirming the negative (at times we do not realize it) which is associated with darkness and failure; it is nearly impossible to identify when God is clearly working in your life as well as identifying a pattern of intervention over time! We must take action to stop this cycle of belief, and thoughts, resulting in negative emotions that can instigate emotional problems such as depression and anxiety. “We must pursue a renewing of the mind.” My friends, if we really want to see God’s finger prints upon the purpose of our lives and work, we must monitor and if needed change our thinking and change our expectations. Not through our own power, but through God’s power to do so, and can only be done through faith itself. It’s more than just positive thinking; although this type of thought may be considered positive. It is really about activating your faith… “putting your money where your mouth is!” According to the Apostle Paul, he had much to say regarding a change in thinking. The Bible states in Romans 12:2; “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that by testing you can discern what is the word of God, what is good, acceptable and perfect.” Within the first part of this scripture it clearly refers to a process of change - rejecting what is unacceptable to God in today’s world which includes many negative and corruptible processes. The second part of scripture identifies with the need to expect God to work in your life! This activation of faith can only exist if we are looking for or testing to discern God’s work. Testing is a process of evaluation. Are you evaluating God’s work in your life? Through this analysis, we can discern what is pleasing God and what is not. God knows that if we look and expect His action, believing and activating our faith and if He agrees that it is fitting to intervene; we will witness His work, and our faith will grow by leaps and bounds! On the other hand, if our expectations are not met, because God did not intervene then He is expecting us to continue trusting Him! So, whether it is the purpose by God to build our faith, or increase our trust in Him - He is always working towards our true purpose in life, always molding and conforming us into what He wants us to be - if we activate our faith, believe in His truths and expect Him to make all the difference in our lives and others! We must be willing to step out and prove our faith by expecting God to intervene within a circumstance. Only when we submit ourselves to Him, through faith, and expect Him to be the “Great I AM” will He then make incredible and obvious works in our lives! Activating our faith and expressing expectations that match God’s character is of great significance, and proves not only do we believe that God can perform great works in our lives but, it also expresses to God and others in our lives that we believe in what the Bible says about who God is and we are seeking every day through Him to be children of the living God; facing the dark world as conquerors for Christ! Believe & Receive!!
